The seminar will focus in three major issues related to the EU ETS mechanism: 1. Genesis, functioning, purpose and future of the EU ETS market. The three mechanisms of flexibility for emission reduction (Expert from the European Commission - DG ENVI). 2. A success story: The good practice example of Germany. Reasons for success and possible lessons to be learned for the new Member States (Financial expert from Germany). 3. Bulgaria's preparations for its participation in the European market of emission quotas. (Bulgarian expert from the Ministry of Environment). 4. Projects example: capturing and transforming CO2 (Dutch environmental projects expert). Expert from the Rotterdam Climate Change Initiative( RCCI).
