The comments are the first from Clinton since his wife's primary campaign ended three weeks ago. It's not clear what role Obama might have for Clinton. Clinton was an outspoken critic of the Illinois senator during the primary. Obama's Republican rival, John McCain, was in Santa Barbara, California Tuesday -- meeting with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for a meeting on energy and the environment. McCain pledged as president to switch official federal vehicles to green technologies and do the same for federal office buildings. He's also calling for a redesign of the national power grid so power is better distributed where it's needed. The AFL-CIO may be close to giving its endorsement to Obama. The leaders of the nation's largest labor organization started voting Tuesday on whether to endorse the Illinois senator. The election, which is being done by fax, is scheduled to end on Thursday. Senator Hillary Clinton returned to Capitol Hill today, for the first time since ending her presidential campaign. Clinton shook hands with a crowd outside, before entering the Capitol. ___ ___, The Associated Press, with AP Campaign MInute.
