Is it really any better than developing stuff with LAMP? If it's main purpose is to make stuff simpler, I'm not sure that that's working. Or perhaps it's just because my Python isn't great.

Amazing. It gets me so excited with the prospect of being able to utilize bigtable and GFS. Also, I'm quite impressed that it can use any python framework that conforms to WSGI. I've just recently been looking into using pylons, so this is really incredible!
