yeah. it sucks that nader's (who i otherwise like) p.i.r.g.s. are against nuke plants, considering that close to 60% of electricity in the u.s comes from burning dirty and nonrenewable coal. its especially common with baby boomers to irrationally fear nuclear energy, which i think comes from cold war childhood fears, as well as a lack of understanding of both the impact of digital computers on meltdown probability, as well as staggering advances in waste reduction (as in the new french plants).
