I absolutly love this song. I heard it for the first time at a dance recital and have been in love with it ever since. RIP Nina.

That's interesting. In NYC, I sense that West Indians are generally considered more goal oriented and accomplished than the average US-born black. The West Indian parade in Brooklyn attracts millions every year.

its not only black people for sure, but you gotta agree we've had the shorter end of the stick for a long time, or at least he feels so, it really depends on the location, here in Toronto, people tend to have little respect for west indian on an intitutional level, but you'll always see them dancing at Caribana lol

I'm sure some of them did have problems coming up. The ones from the West Indies may have had fewer problems. My father faced antisemitism in the 40s and 50s that I never encountered growing up.

did you ask your CEO what he went through, or any of the employees tell you thte stories they went through before they made it , these things have to be taken in consideration, either way its nice to know that what you say exists, im trusting

I'm sure discrimination does exist, but at the bank I work for the President/CEO is a black Harvard law graduate and there are highly accomplished black employees at every level. That was certainly not the case when I started my career. A big problem still exists relative to the quality of the schools in the inner-city, but that's a topic for discussion that could go on forever.
