some people do do this stuff - i was playing guitar behind a singer in about 2000 who did pretty much the same thing. whenever i mention having played with that band some people still go "wasn't that the band who had a singer who used to do drugs on stage?" in the pre-smoking ban days she also got through 2 fairly big spliffs on stage during a 40 min acoustic set too, which is going some when you're technically working

i think it's an act. i mean, i could be wrong and she COULD be dumb enough to do it in front of thousands of people but it didn't convince me. looked more like she was wiping snot from her face due to a runny nose :p but again, maybe she was skiing
