TGV is a commercial success in South Korea, Spain, Italy & soon in Morocco and Argentina. ICE hasn't been sold anywhere :(

I francesi con i treni ci sanno fare altro che la merdaccia di trenitalia piena di terroni fannulloni

transrapid and maglev are not as safe as classic train and very expensive to built! not reliable with the other line and can t start from the center of the big town like the TGV,shinkansen etc start from old station..

lol this is not the Eurostar(tgv) but the shuttle(classic train with car and coach) who had burn because of a coach!!! some derailment for the TGV due to flooding with no death (articulate train) not the case of the ICE..lol

@benoit: What about the fire on the Euro-TGV in the English Channel-Tunnel two weeks ago? How many derailments with TGV? I remember severals...
benoit91220 (September 28th, 2008 @ 4:19 pm)
NO problem with the TGV since 30y but that true when we compare with the ICE we can t be quite sure of hight speed train.. and the transrapid is dangerous too lol

@jadawin10: But please don't compare maglevs to old trains with wheels. I wouldn't like to go with a traditional train at speeds around 500km/h, with maglev I've absolutely no reservations. They can't derail, they don't need 35 km/h to accelerate (Transrapid: 5 km) nor 12 km to break. Maglevs are another chapter of technology, far away from each Velaro, TGV etc... The end of the Munich project is not so bad, because it was a "innercity" Transrapid. Berlin-Hamburg would have been made more sense

@jadawin10: Enschede was a old type of ICE-1, which derailed due to a steel tyre which is not in use anymore. TGV also derailed severeal times, normaly no problem, but in Enschede a long, very unlucky unfortunate series of events leaded to the accident (long time ago). China is very interested to buy the whole transrapid technology. They are "hot" to do it. The elongation of the existing track is a done deal, just formalities has to be clarified.

The German trains are dangerous. See the disaster of the ICE in Eschede, 101 dead, 88 wounded. Shanghai Maglev, 23 dead 10 injured. The Maglev is an expensive failure and don't have a real future. The German just give up the sole commercial project in Europe (Munich). Siemens stopped the development of this "train". Too expensive, too complex. The Shanghai line is likely to be the only one ever built.
