Wow, I am very disappointed in this seminar. I was told that this guy was the "King" of software testing. He's a jerk. I do like his rapid software testing methodology, however. That's just one type of specialized testing, though, which is performed under extreme time constraints and low resources. In my opinion, it all comes down to this: All software is meant to perform some function. To test effectively, first unit test the code, then positive test the GUI. Lastly, negative test the app.

Don't be such a moron. Just because someone has a piece of paper to say they sat in class and followed a prescribed system doesn't mean THEY are an expert. There are many degree holders that are completely incompetent at their choosen career. Original thinking is what makes advances. Why don't you try telling people Newton and Einstein were wrong too, as far as I remember they didn't have higher education or degrees. Idiot.

Without trying to be offensive, the standards are to get a certification.
Just because your experience is more profound than a judge or lawyer's (whose expertise is in civil law) does not imply that your superiority is above and beyond the industry norm.
Even if you weren't certified, I would be more impressed with a membership in ASQ. Even the most "elite" belong to their respective societies/organizations; and certs are an industry specific standard. Are you really above industry standards?

I just dont feel too agreeable about this Talk. How come a man that does not have any Upper level education will come to anyone that has been tested in an Academic Setting and say that he is an authority?
First of all, James...Get a degree, Test your knowledge against others in a University, stop being so arrogant...and stop giving talks about things you dont have a clue about...better, Become a Motivational speaker for depressed Housewives, you will do better in there. Get a Degree, BUM!!!

Horrible lecture or whatever this is... firstly the guy never explains anything, secondly he just keeps shifting from one topic to another.. Thirdly he just keeps boasting about himself.. Seems like he is talking to recruiters to hire him!!! One thing i dont know if he is a Testing Expert (which i doubt, after he continuously telling like he is doubtful) But certainly he is not a good mentor or a teacher.. And he is certainly a bad person to explain something to a crowd!!

I believe Hugh Laurie, based his character Gregory HOUSE on James

The thing with James is you never feel he's telling you the answers, to whatever problem you might be looking for him to answer, or exactly how to go about testing.
He leaves it open to you to take on what he's saying, agree or not, draw on your own experience and come up with 'your' way. Even in his books it's the same.
