2009 hybrid goes to 34 mpg, but 6 speed 4cyls. have been reported at 40mpg. Just shows that Hybrids are not necessarily worth the cost. GM should tout this fact that consumers save thousands of dollars and still get great MPG.

I have to say the design of this car is really nice. Its really nice. I would buy one. However look is only half of the battle. Lets just wait and see how it will do. If the quality can hold up, then i would say american cars are back in the game with toyota and honda. But thats just for the small car. I now still prefer japanese cars cause they last better. but 5 years from now and we still reveice good response from the people, that would be it. American come back.

I love the Chevy Malibu, but even I know this guy's selling the Malibu. He's not objective.

32 mpg for the hybrid is way too low, isn't it?

Sad that the hybrid only gets 32 mpg. This year, you can get the LTZ trim with the four cylinder and a 6-speed auto transmission that gets 33 mpg hwy, and I think the same for city. Of course, with these new EP ratings, you'll actually see much better economy in real world driving.

HIGHLY dought it. It doesnt fit into the purpose of the Malibu. Now a new SS Impala might meet the agenda in 2010.

I'm not exactly a Chevy "fan" but I have to admit that this new 'Bu looks AMAZING when you consider the price. It actually has STYLE. Color me impressed...

i dont care where it's made. this car is hott stuff for the price! regardless it's still an american company. even if parts are made in other countries. your still supporting an american company thats been around for years.
